2024 in Conversation
Over six months in 2024, the Nuclear Truth Project held special events ‘In Conversation’ with affected community members, survivors, activists and allies working for nuclear justice.
Through these, we explored a wide range of issues, from actioning and translating our Protocols to issues surrounding RECA in the United States, or the regional and global challenges of the new AUKUS military agreements that involve nuclear submarines, nuclear warfighting and nuclear waste. We learned more on the nuclear testing legacies and nuclear resistance in Kazakhstan. We have learned more about nuclear waste issues from perspectives spanning the United States, Australia and the Pacific region. And on the intergenerational impacts of nuclear warfare.
Our speakers came from eight countries – nuclear justice leaders Fiji, Australia, USA, Aotearoa/New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ma’ohi Nui, Japan and Kazakhstan. We thank our speakers and the many audience members who joined across the globe to share, learn and make connections through these conversations.

Hiroshima Remembered
In conversation with Mitchie Takeuchi and Kazuyo Yamane, sharing family stories of the bombing of Hiroshima and their work towards nuclear abolition.

TRANSLATING PROTOCOLS
Community workshop: Translating Protocols discussed the new translations of the Nuclear Truth Project Protocols for Ma’ohi Nui, Japan, and Kazakhstan.
