Nat Lowrey
Communications Coordinator
Nat joins is our Communications Coordinator. She is a grassroots organiser, campaigner and communicator with 25 years’ experience in human rights, environmental and social justice.
Nat has held roles with Friend of the Earth Australia, Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA, and as the Nuclear Free campaigner with the Conservation Council of Western Australia. Nat is currently co-chair of AidWatch Australia, Papua New Guinea liaison for the Deep Sea Mining Campaign, and a regional contact person for the Yes to Life No to Mining global solidarity network
Nat works with justice-aligned organisations and communities to sharpen strategy, amplify stories and design tools for change. She is highly skilled in communications and visual design.
Nat’s work is guided by decolonial, collaborative practices that begin with listening, trust and a deep commitment to collective futures.
Born in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and now based in so-called Australia, Nat holds a deep connection to the black sands and ocean of Te Kawerau a Maki west of Tāmaki Makaurau. Nat’s activism was shaped by the Pasifika nuclear-free and independence movements of the 1970s and 1980s.
Nat holds a Master of Human Rights and Democratisation (University of Sydney) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours, University of New South Wales).
